Hamilton Library Entrance and Patio
Hamilton 2017
The renovation of the Dundas Branch of the Hamilton Public Library was initiated to comply with Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) legislation and improve the profile and functional programing for the branch. As a means of improving connectivity and accessibility to the surrounding community and the interior programming expanded to the existing service laneway converting it into a lush pedestrian thoroughfare and reading patio.
A plant material and a colourful screen with imagery derived from nature provides a sense of enclosure and separation from the adjacent parking lots.
The project is scheduled for construction in 2017 in tandem with renovations to the building.
